BIOGRAPHY

Natalie Lo began her musical journey at a young age and demonstrated exceptional promise, gaining admission to the Bachelor of Music degree program at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) at the age of 16. She later started her Master of Music studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London, under renowned harpist Skaila Kanga.

Over the course of her career, Natalie has delivered captivating performances both locally and internationally, appearing in solo and duo recitals across Japan, Italy, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom. In 2022, she was invited to perform as one of the Stars of Tomorrow performers at the 12th USA International Harp Competition, and later at the 14th World Harp Congress “Focus on Youth” concert held in Cardiff. As a concerto soloist, she was selected by the HKAPA to perform as the Winner of the Concerto Competition, and has also performed with the SAR Philharmonic Orchestra helping raise over HKD $2 million through a charity concert for the Hong Kong Arthritis and Rheumatism Foundation.

Natalie is the founding member of The Harp Collective, a newly founded collaboration with Huw Boucher, organizing concerts, workshops and online harp content. The Harp Collective Duo with Huw Boucher, won Gold at the Hong Kong International Harp Competition and made its Hong Kong recital debut 'Dances and Dreams' to great success. The duo explores transcriptions and creates original arrangements, expanding the harp duo repertoire with fresh interpretations.

Natalie actively collaborates with international flutists, including Marc Grauwels (Belgium) and Sei Murai (Japan). She released a CD titled Après un Rêve under Da Vinci Classics, with Hong Kong flutist Aaron Leung in March 2025. She also works closely with the Belgian Consulate of Hong Kong and Macau, performing regularly at their events and festivals. Natalie is the co-founder of the Arcadia Duo, which performs throughout the United Kingdom.

As an educator, Natalie has received Outstanding Tutor Awards and Recognition Awards at various competitions, including the Quebec Music Competition International, International Young Artist Open Competition, and the Hong Kong International Youth Performance Arts Festival. She also serves as Music Subject Lead at Knowness, an education platform that supports young students in making informed career decisions and achieving success.

In addition to her solo and educational pursuits, Natalie is a highly sought-after orchestral harpist. She has performed with prestigious orchestras such as the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (as a freelance harpist) and Hong Kong Sinfonietta (as guest principal). Her orchestral work also includes collaborations with the Hong Kong Festival Wind Orchestra, Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra and the HKAPA Chinese Orchestra. Before focusing her career on the harp, Natalie was the principal flutist of the New Hong Kong Philharmonia, with whom she toured Europe.

Natalie is also an experienced freelance graphic designer, designing artistic promotional materials for events ranging from student recitals, to art exhibition brochures to sport competition banners. She has worked closely with the School of Music in the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts to design promotional material for events such as the Academy Symphony Orchestra concerts, Visiting Artists masterclasses and recitals, and the Academy Harp Festival 2023.
